Fueled by Curiosity: My Unscripted Adventures – Episode One
"She's a wanderer at heart, with an insatiable curiosity for the unknown. Inspired by the trails blazed by others, she's eager to forge her own path. Her journey is about collecting moments, savoring experiences, and embracing the beauty of the unexplored. Whether on winding roads or uncharted paths, she's driven by a sense of wonder and a thirst for adventure. She has a beautiful heart and a mind of her own.
As she navigates life's twists and turns, her goal remains simple: to live fully, love deeply, and create lasting memories with those who matter most. She's not searching for perfection; she's seeking connection, joy, and a sense of belonging. In the end, she hopes to look back on a life well-lived, filled with laughter, adventure, and the love of those around her. She is courageous, she is brave, she is daring’’
From there, we hiked through the bush, navigating winding trails and taking in the sights and sounds of countryside. As we made our way to the banks of Lake Volta, where kayaks awaited us, the anticipation of what the journey would be for us, had also started building The Bravehearts team, then geared up with life jackets and hit the water.
As a new kayaker, I received a lot of support from the
Bravehearts team who ensured a smooth experience while, others had the freedom
to explore solo.
The gentle lapping of the water against the kayak, the
warmth of the sun on my skin, and the majestic scenery unfolding before my eyes
gave me enough goosepimples of what I thought had already set the tone for an
amazing session.
Guess the journey… A kayaking experience to an island to
spend 3 days and 2 nights. The name of the Island? … SURVIVAL ISLAND…
For the purposes of this first episode, I won’t go into the
details of this adventure, look out for an update on other episodes)
My second adventure was with a group of girls. Same
adventure on Survival island. 2 nights,
3 days. This was led by an all-woman crew. Yes, the whole nine-yards on an island,
kayaking hiking and abseiling a hill by day, camping by night.
My third on Survival Island came. We went on foot for about
an hour on a hike through a forest (I am allowed to define it as such since it
wasn’t a bush either) with our personal belongings. You were expected to carry
what you packed to support you on your journey.
We got to a waterfront, beautifully decorated by a hill front where we were ably supported by the crew and abseiled into a canoe which was waiting for us in the lake… after we had all abseiled the hill into the canoe, then it was time for us to kayak on the water before nightfall. An exciting and tiring close to an hour journey it was… we made it to Survival Island, where we were to spend 3 days and 2 nights, at a place, as close to nature as possible….
